Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the general treatment of deposits, cancellations, refunds and third-party costs for Smart Business Visibility projects. A project-specific written quotation may contain additional or more specific terms.

1. Standard payment structure

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, standard projects require a 50% deposit before work begins and the remaining balance before final launch, transfer or handover.

2. What the deposit covers

The deposit reserves project time and is applied toward discovery, planning, content preparation, design, development and other work undertaken for the project.

3. Cancellation before work begins

If a client requests cancellation before material project work has started, Smart Business Visibility will review the request in good faith and identify any work already performed or non-recoverable costs already incurred. Any refund due will be determined after considering those amounts and any rights required by applicable law.

4. Cancellation after work has started

Once material work has begun, the deposit is applied to reserved time and work already performed and is therefore not automatically refundable. If the value of completed work and committed costs is lower than the amount paid, any appropriate refund will be assessed in light of the written agreement and applicable law. If completed work exceeds amounts already paid, an outstanding amount may remain payable where permitted by the agreement and law.

5. Third-party costs

Domain registrations, hosting, email services, premium software, paid plugins, advertising spend and other third-party purchases are normally non-recoverable from Smart Business Visibility once ordered or activated because they are supplied by independent providers. Any provider refund is subject to that provider’s own terms and applicable law.

6. Client delays or abandonment

If a project is delayed because required content, access, approvals or responses are not provided, the delivery date may be rescheduled. If a project remains inactive for an extended period, restart or rescheduling may require a revised timeline or fee. Smart Business Visibility will communicate before treating a project as abandoned.

7. Scope changes

Refunds are not generally due merely because a client changes its mind about an approved design direction or requests work outside the agreed scope. Additional work may instead be quoted separately.

8. Service problems

If you believe agreed work has not been delivered materially in accordance with the confirmed scope, contact Smart Business Visibility promptly with the specific issue. We will first seek a practical remedy, correction or other fair resolution where appropriate.

9. Mandatory legal rights

Nothing in this policy overrides cancellation, refund, consumer or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where applicable law gives a customer a stronger mandatory right, that right takes priority over this policy.
